It’s time for your first Squidoo paycheck!

But first, 3 things you should know.

1. You might have gotten a murky email from us today, saying something to the effect of: “$8.30 has been donated in your name to Acumen Fund.” Or just: “You earned $0.50 in cash.” Period. Not very clear, is it? Basically, our computers erased the personalized notes we wrote and sent you cryptic data instead. HAL apologizes. As do I.

2. We will contact you with all the correct earnings info very soon. Stay tuned.

3. Most importantly, I want to share some earnings feedback with you. We just came out of beta a few weeks ago. And since we sent all our beta test money to charity, we’re betting no one is going to retire on their royalties yet! But already some of you have earned as much as $40 (dinner for two). Others have earned about $1 (have a cup of coffee on us). And still others have pooled their money to send thousands of dollars to places like Room to Read, which helps build schools for children in developing countries.

Chances are that what you’ll be seeing in this first paycheck is just a drop in the bucket. If you’re more interested in spreading ideas and traffic than making money, just send your share to a charity, where every bit counts.

Thanks!

Quick! What's Squidoo?

Squidoo is the popular publishing platform and community that makes it easy for you to create "lenses" online. Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything you know about your topic of interest – and snap it all into focus. It's a supersimple, fun and powerful way to share your interests, build your online identity and credibility, and connect with new readers and friends. It's all free, and you could even earn a royalty for charity or yourself!
