The Squidoo Activists recently hosted a virtual concert for charity.
The idea was that most of us dogooders out there spend so much time putting together and participating in fundraisers and golf outings and bake sales and walkathons--when we could also, much more easily, sit down at the computer for 30 minutes and make a page about them for free. A page that will donate royalties and spread the word about your cause, every day, forever. Not just during one night of a black tie gala.
So instead of getting your little brother's band together in a warehouse and scrambling about to sell a grand total of 6 tickets, why not host a virtual concert online? There you can have Bono and David Byrne and Sting and Beyonce all on your very own stage. Right next to your little brother, of course.
With all this in mind, lensmaster Rya invented her dream concert. "The theme of my virtual concert is an eclectic mix: from unknown musicians to popular ones, from rock to soulful soloists--the thread that links all these musicians together is that, if I were stranded on a desert island and could only listen to 9 musicians for the rest of my life, these are the ones who'd make the cut. And because having all this talent in one place would make for a wildly good time, all proceeds from this lens are donated to the Wild Animal Sanctuary."
Rock on, Rya.

Every day (or nearly that) Squidoo's Community & Charity Organizer, Kimberly Dawn Wells, highlights a lens that stands out from the crowd, a lens that is unique in topic, approach, personality, tools or timing. Or, you know, just a lens that made her day.
If you find a lens you'd like to submit for LotD consideration, send it to us here.
